| This course addresses training for individuals who respond with and provide support to Hazardous Materials Technicians, and who would act as the liaison with federal, state and local authorities. Information presented includes: implementing the local emergency response plan; knowledge of the state emergency response plan; understanding the classification and verification of known and unknown materials using advanced survey instruments and equipment; selection and use of personal protective equipment; hazard and risk assessment techniques; determination/development of decontamination procedures; chemical radiological and toxicological terminology and behavior; development of a site safety and control plans; and additional topics. Course includes hands-on training.
